Singapore weather at a glance

Singapore sits one degree north of the equator, so the weather changes little through the year: daytime temperatures of 31–33 °C, nights around 24–26 °C, humidity above 70 per cent and rain on roughly half of all days, usually as a short, heavy afternoon or evening thunderstorm. What does change is the rain pattern — the Northeast Monsoon from December to March brings the wettest and slightly cooler weeks, the Southwest Monsoon from June to September is drier — and, in some years, transboundary haze between August and October. SGWeather shows the official NEA and MSS readings for all of this, refreshed every few minutes: where it is raining now, the two-hour nowcast for every one of Singapore's 47 areas, the 1-hour PM2.5 and 24-hour PSI for each region, and what that means for what to wear and carry today.

Common questions

Is it raining in Singapore right now?

The Rain tile above shows how many of NEA's roughly sixty rain gauges recorded rain in the last five minutes, and the Rain page shows the MSS radar with half an hour of playback so you can see where showers are heading.

What is the PSI in Singapore today?

The 24-hour PSI for each region appears on the Air tile and the Air page, next to the 1-hour PM2.5, which responds first when haze arrives. Both are NEA's hourly readings, shown with their timestamps.

How accurate is the 2-hour nowcast?

It is NEA's own short-range forecast for 47 named areas, updated every half hour. It is the best guide to the next two hours; the hourly panel below it is a numerical model and is labelled as such.

What should I wear in Singapore today?

The What to Pack page builds a list from the current nowcast, the nearest station's temperature and humidity, and today's PM2.5 - an umbrella, a layer for air-conditioning and sun protection almost always, an N95 only when haze is elevated.
