- Mandai wildlife parks — Five parks on one site; the Night Safari runs rain or shine but heavy storms empty the trails.
- Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve — Mangroves, mudskippers and migratory birds from September to March; early morning is best.
- Punggol Waterway & Coney Island — Flat cycling along the waterway; Coney Island is unlit and rustic.
- Woodlands & the Causeway — The land crossing to Johor; queues lengthen in rain and at weekends.
- Yishun & Sembawang — Sembawang Hot Spring Park is free and a curiosity.
- Seletar — Aerospace park and the old colonial estate; quiet and leafy.
Getting around
Mandai is reached by the Mandai Khatib Shuttle from Khatib MRT or the Mandai Express from town. The North is furthest from Marina Bay; budget an hour each way.
Questions
Is the Zoo worth it if rain is forecast?
Short, sharp showers are normal and the parks have sheltered stretches; a forecast of thundery showers across the whole afternoon is a reason to go in the morning instead or swap in Bird Paradise, which has more cover.
Can I do the Night Safari and the Zoo on one day?
Yes: Zoo or River Wonders in the afternoon, dinner on site, Night Safari from 7:15 pm. The evening is the more comfortable part of the day.
