East Singapore weather today
Where most visitors first touch down. Beyond Changi and Jewel's indoor waterfall, the East is the island's beach and cycling coast, and Katong–Joo Chiat is its Peranakan heartland with the best laksa arguments in the country.

Live in the East
Air readings are NEA's East region; rain is from the NEA gauges nearest the zone's key areas; the nowcast is NEA's 2-hour forecast.

Worth your time
- Jewel Changi Airport — The Rain Vortex and Canopy Park; a useful stop on arrival or a rainy afternoon.
- East Coast Park — 15 km of coast for cycling, skating and seafood at the lagoon; bike hire near Parkland Green.
- Katong & Joo Chiat — Pastel shophouses on Koon Seng Road, Peranakan kueh, laksa on East Coast Road.
- Marine Parade & Parkway — Local neighbourhood life a short walk from the beach; good hawker centres.
- Changi Village & Pulau Ubin — Bumboat from Changi Point to Ubin for kampong Singapore and Chek Jawa wetlands.
- Tampines & Bedok — Heartland malls and hawker food away from the tourist trail.
Getting around
The Thomson–East Coast Line now runs along the coast (Marine Parade, Siglap, Bayshore stations); Changi is on the East–West Line. East Coast Park has little shade at midday.
Questions
Is the beach at East Coast Park good for swimming?
It is a sheltered strait rather than an ocean beach: calm water, ships on the horizon. Good for a dip and for families; not for surf.
How do I get to Pulau Ubin?
Bumboats leave Changi Point ferry terminal when they have about a dozen passengers; bring cash, water and insect repellent, and check the nowcast before you go as there is little cover on the island.
